The current
accuweather.com forecast for the month of February in Colorado clearly illustrates how bizarre our climate patterns are becoming. It's not so much that the temps are in the 50s in what should be the coldest of months. It's that we're bouncing from minus temperatures into the 40-50s within one week. This is not a good thing. It'll be a miracle if I don't lose a few big trees this winter. I hate it when trees die. It's like a child dying. There's something about trees that I connect with on a spiritual level.
Tonight is Candlemas, and we've set the house ablaze. I love these squiggly photographs!
Here's a quotation a friend shared that's apt for the occasion:
“In moments of discouragement, defeat, or even despair, there are always certain things to cling to. Little things usually: remembered laughter, the face of a sleeping child, a tree in the wind--in fact, any reminder of something deeply felt or dearly loved. No man is so poor as not to have many of these small candles. When they are lighted, darkness goes away and a touch of wonder remains.” ~ Tombstone inscription in Britain
