K is for Kilts

The setting of my novel isn't Scotland, but my protagonist is Scottish-American, and he's a bagpiper of considerable talent. Needless to say, he wears kilts for various functions, and there are different kinds from the most casual for hard labor, to military uniforms, to formal attire complete with a short "Prince Charlie" jacket. He wears them all.

I found many terrific photos online.

I also made a great discovery watching this YouTube video. A man getting dressed is just about as sexy as him getting undressed. Maybe even more so.

I was inspired enough to work a scene into my novel based on this entertaining and informative video. Best writing prompt ever. Yes, indeed.

Those men quite good in their kilts. I'd think they would get cold, though. Are the kilts a ceremonial clothing, or everyday wear?

kilts are hot now thanks to Outlander. Just stopping by on A to Z. Happy Monday

Some men wear kilts every day - even in America. Working kilts - either denim or leather are the usual wear for casual. With work boots, of course.

You've given me a new perspective on kilts.

The best perspective is... well, never mind. ;)

Visiting new blogs during the #Challenge and today I found you. I always start with those who have the designation (WR) and gardening or the name of the blog that lets me know they are a fellow writer. I read back through all your AtoZ posts and enjoyed them. May I make an observation. I couldn't find a place to leave a "Like" which would have told you I had read the posts. AND, I couldn't find what you are doing with your blog when you aren't writing the #Challenge. Still, I think I have found a kindred spirit. So, I'm a new follower. If you have some time, come and see what I have been up to. A 2nd novel released last week on Amazon. Very exciting. Oh, and though you mention your novel, where is the blurb about it, so I can see if I want to order it. You NEED these things. Come see me, I'll hear the garden gate click open.

No point in putting the cart before the horse, Stepheny. My goal is to get the book written first. I've spent the last ten years mostly editing and building up a social media platform that will work for whatever I decide to do. We'll see if writing books and publishing is the next thing for me. I've been involved with publishing on and off since c. 1970. I never love it enough to stay. So we'll see. I should blog about that too.
